Minutes for the Fitzwilliam Library Trustees Meeting, Feb 11, 2013

Present: Maggie Brogdon, Barbara Green, Nick Noyes, Cathie Talbert, Susan Massin
Absent: Richard Mays

The trustees approved the minutes of Jan 7, 2013.

Budget
Cathie and Barbara attended the Budget Hearing.
There will be a warrant item for $6800 for painting and any needed repairs to the old part of the library building.

Building Report
Gene Cuomo will be added as the primary contact for Mutual Aid. Susan will give him a key to the library.
We will consider purchasing a generator for the library at a future time.
The lower roof needs to be shoveled after each storm. It may need to be reroofed.
Back Emergency light is intermittent. Susan is discussing it with John Greer.
We will review estimates for carpet cleaning next month and then schedule it for April.

Other Agenda items
The auditors have requested that we provide a Summary of Yearly Activity report in 2014.

We approved the Garden Club’s request to use the meeting room in the spring to interview candidates for their scholarship.

Susan shared her 2012 library report to the town. She also shared the copy of the town history that has been rebound.

Nick reported that he had talked with our attorney about the Locke case. We scheduled a nonpublic meeting on Wed, Feb 13 at 6:00 PM to discuss this litigation.

We signed the manifest and adjourned at 6:50 PM.
The next regular meeting will be Monday, Mar 4 at 6:00 PM.
