Minutes of Meeting
July 11, 2016
Present: Nick Noyes, Barbara Green, Richard Mays, Susan Curtin, Director Kate Thomas
Absent: Gail Landy, Dick Goettle
The meeting was called to order at 5:40 pm in the Meeting Room of the library.
The manifest was approved.
The minutes for June 6, 2016, were approved with typos corrected.
The discussion of the Selectmen’s concern over the phrase “stitch and bitch” concluded with drafting a letter in reply. Nick Noyes will deliver it to the Selectmen.
We discussed finding another alternate.
Richard Mays reported that Dennis Wright has pushed out the painting of the south wall of the library to later in July.
Barbara Green’s report and check list for the 2nd floor was reviewed. Five of the nine items on the check list are done. We will review the status again next meeting.
Richard Mays is working on finding someone to service our air conditioning unit. He reported that the outside lights now have a timer and that the outside faucet has been repaired.
The members of the committee working on the Locke Collections are Cathie Talbert, Barbara Green, and Nick Noyes.
We authorized the Treasurer to transfer sufficient money in the Special Building Fund to cover faucet repair, the electrical bill, and miscellaneous charges for work done on the 2nd floor to meet code.
We reviewed and approved the July quarterly report on the status of all the funds held by the library.
We continued a review of The Investment Policy until the next meeting.
Next meeting is scheduled for August 1 at 6:00 pm.
The meeting adjourned at 6:45 pm.
